Ministry of Information Gives Donation to Lakhon Bassac Troupe Ol Sam Ang

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Information, Khieu Kanharith, met with and provided donations to the popular Lakhon Bassac troupe Ol Sam Ang collective at the National Television of Cambodia station on Thursday morning.

According to the leader of the collective, they will be filming the traditional Khmer fantasy opera for 12 days at the National Television of Cambodia, with the participation of more than 40 talented artists from many provinces. At least 20 of these performers will be playing giants.

The troupe representative expressed his deepest gratitude to Minister Khieu Kanharith for his generous donations and for always supporting Ol Sam Ang’s performances and recordings at National Television of Cambodia.

He also extended his thanks to the leaders and civil servants of the General Department of National Television of Cambodia for providing Ol Sam Ang the opportunity to come and record their performances for the people to watch on TV.

Minister Khieu Kanharith’s donation to Ol Sam Ang included 5 bags of rice, 15 cases of pure water, 6 cases of orange juice and $700.
